Mrs. Decker

Hello! I'm so excited to be your teacher this year! I look forward to a great year filled with smiles, risk taking,  and making new memories that will last you a lifetime.

I have been a teacher since 2005. I started my teaching career in Ruskin, FL as a second grade teacher. After teaching in Florida and missing my family,  I then decided to come back home to Michigan.  I was hired as a Kindergarten teacher (one year) and then a third grade teacher (6 years) in Saginaw. When I got married in 2012, I  moved to Genesee County where I was blessed to get offered a teaching position in Flushing. I am entering my 7th year as a fourth grade teacher in the district. Being in Flushing has been a dream come true,  and I am thankful to be part of such a great community!

In addition to being a teacher, I'm also a mom and wife. My daughter Vera,  is a sweet and sassy 6 year old. She is in Kindergarten this year. I also have a son, Darren. He is 3 and is a busy little boy. We also have a dog named, Marley. He is 14 years old and spends his time hiding from the kids. We have two ouside kittens, Blackie and Huron.

My husband is Mr. Decker. He is a dedicated Lions fan,  middle school cross country and wrestling coach. When you are in the 7th grade you will take his Life Skills class and learn many essential hands on skills that relate to cooking, plumbing, wiring, CPR, and habits that create a successful teen.

I am excited to learn about your interests and families soon!
